Chicas Rock and Turntable Academy will be teaming up with Brewster Street Ice House on Saturday, July 21, from 12 pm to 4 pm for an afternoon of music, art, and support for a great organization. Local entertainment will include Clarissa Serna, Art Barerra, Master Blaster, and performances by the students of Turntable Academy and Chicas Rock. This event is open to the public and donations are very much encouraged.

Chicas Rock is a creative musical program dedicated to building self-esteem for young girls through outlets of music and art. The recent after school program was over a three month period that included musical instruction, self-esteem workshops, and team building exercises.

Turntable Academy is for boys that gives an introduction to DJ culture through a variety of workshops and hands on rehearsals.

Chicas Rock and Turntable Academy will be holding their second one week music camp August 6-11, but at this time, the program is running on limited means and is looking to the community to help keep this program strong.
