Pitchers Ross Seaton and Kyle Greenwalt will visit the 6241 Saratoga Whataburger location between 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Friday, July 8.  Seaton and Greenwalt will sign autographs, talk with fans and participate in a remote broadcast by radio station KFTX-FM (97.5). A portion of the day's lunch proceeds benefit the Food Bank of Corpus Christi. Whataburger and the Hooks are involved in a season-long initiative to collect non-perishable food items for needy Coastal Bend residents.

corpus christi hooksHooks fans who make a donation to the Food Bank at select donation points receive a voucher good for two general admission tickets to a Hooks home game, courtesy of Whataburger.

The methods of giving are simple:

  • At Wednesday home games look for the large Whataburger fry box outside the main gates. Place your non-perishable food items in the box for a pair of free GA tickets.
  • On other game nights, contribute at the Whataburger Field ticket office.
  • When the Hooks are out of town, donate at the Whataburger Field administrative office during business hours (9-5).
  • Another food item drop point is the Food Bank of Corpus Christi, 826 Krill Street, where contributors receive the Hooks ticket benefit.
  • To donate on-line and receive the tickets, go to foodbankofcorpuschristi.org.

Seaton (4-5), pitches for the Hooks on July 7th in their series and homestand opener vs. Tulsa at 7:05. Greenwalt has been utilized as both a starter and reliever in 2011.

The Food Bank of Corpus Christi is an independent organization that solicits and distributes food that might otherwise go to waste or be discarded by manufacturers, wholesalers or retailers. Since 1982, the food bank has fought hunger in the Coastal Bend by providing food and personal care products to various charity and service agencies in an 11-county area (Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Duval, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces and San Patricio).
