  The Antonio E. Garcia Arts & Education Center, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi nursing and counseling faculty, and the Food Bank of Corpus Christi will offer a free eight-week Diabetes Wellness Program to women in the community on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Sept. 11 through Nov. 1 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Antonio E. Garcia Arts & Education Center, located at 2021 Agnes St. The program is open to women ages 25 and older in the Corpus Christi area. Participants will receive free A1C testing before and after the program, health assessments, nutritional information/demonstrations, motivation group sessions, beginners zumba/yoga/pilates classes, and free pedometers. Pre-enrollment will be held at the Center on Tuesday, Aug. 28, Thursday, Aug. 30, Tuesday, Sept. 4, and Thursday, Sept. 6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. For more information or questions or concerns, contact Dr. Janeen Miller at 361.882.7837; or email DoctorJMiller@gmail.com. |
